Common questions
Before you book.
You need to be there at the start so your Hero can confirm the final price and walk through what stays and what goes. After that, it's up to you — plenty of customers hand over the garage and get on with their day.
Nothing is charged at booking. You pay by card in the app once the job is marked complete. Payments are processed by Stripe — your card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored on Garage Hero's servers.
The estimate you see when booking is a range based on garage size and service. Your Hero gives you a firm price after looking at the actual garage, and you approve it before any work begins. If the number doesn't work for you, you can decline at no cost.
Heroes can't remove hazardous materials — paint, solvents, motor oil, propane tanks, asbestos, ammunition, or medical waste. Some items such as tires, appliances with refrigerant, and construction debris carry extra disposal fees at the facility. Flag anything unusual in your job notes and your Hero will tell you upfront.
Heroes are independent local contractors, not Garage Hero employees. Everyone applies through the app and is reviewed and approved by our team before they can accept a job, and every completed cleanout can be rated by the customer.
